Some photos from last week, when we finally had a day off at the same time and the weather was all sorts of excellent optimal for walking through the Loop and putting on our best tourist faces. We walked to Eataly for the sweet milk gelato and took pictures by the river. We strolled over to the Rock n' Roll McDonald's, debated getting French fries, and took awkward pictures by the creepy statues because that's what you do with creepy statues. And when we were pooped out after only 3 hours of walking (hah) we marched on home with happy bellies, goofy smiles on our faces, a little sweaty from the Chicago summer sun.
We joked about being tourists in the city, but in reality it doesn't feel quite as touristy anymore. Slowly we are building a home. We talked about decorating the condo a bit, will hopefully update you with results in a few months or so. String lights have been purchased, and my first attempt at a gallery wall is in the works. And trendy plants! Can we just live like this couple? We chatted about investments and finances (adult things ermahgerd) and growing old and joked about starting a bakery (jokes, guys).
I still get homesick sometimes. But I truly love it here. Each day is magical and city living still excites me. That's all.
