I'm a huge fan of brunch.
Yesterday morning I got to meet up with some very special ladies, Audrey and Katie. They are two dear friends from undergrad, and they ran the Little Fifty with me my senior year (Go Stopcocks! Allie, you were missed!) Katie was driving into Indianapolis for the morning, so we decided to venture up to Broad Ripple and try out Taste Cafe and Marketplace. It was a fantastic time, with both good food and company.
Katie got an egg white open faced omelette, with peas, asparagus, and a kale salad on top! It was a beautiful mountain of greens. Rather than getting mozzarella on it, Katie asked for goat cheese and they were totally chill about it. Goat cheese is just so good - I normally am not a huge cheese person, but I can get behind goat cheese. Especially in an omelette.
Audrey got the quiche and the homefries. Don't those homefries look absolutely amazing? And the quiche was humongous! Well worth the money.
I got an egg sandwich with tomatoes, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and field greens. With a balsamic aoili and a fruit cup! The aoili gave the sandwich a great tang, and the best part - it wasn't too heavy! I also got the prettiest fruit cup I've ever seen as a side. They even sprinkled little ruby poms on the top of the cup. Beautiful bright colors to complement the unseasonably warm day.
Taste offered incredibly fresh food, and I love that they use seasonal vegetables to complement their dishes. They also have a really neat coffee bar and water station, where the water is flavored with wonderful citruses like lemon, oranges, and limes. There was so much more that I wanted to try too, like the waffles, and the bagel combinations, and the cheddar biscuits. It's a good thing I like brunch, I'll for sure be back to eat at this place again.
Thanks for a great morning ladies.
