Candice and Eugene drove downtown and we ate pretty food outside. We talked about life lately and nibbled on a peach corn jalepeno goat cheese scone (incredible). After brunch we detoured for bread, a cookie, and some photos - for the instas and for the parents, too.
Sometimes I forget that they're old enough to drive on the highway, or have lady/man-friends. It's funny how when we were teenagers, we fought and bickered and never shared, neither things nor secrets. And as twenty-somethings, we have become each others' biggest supporters. No one celebrates your small victories harder than your family. No one gives you better tough love than the people who have grown up with you.
As we ate brunch today, I was thankful for all of it.
And before I go for today, there have been a recent lack of cakes and I feel like I should explain - I'm currently in the midst of a move to a new place in Indy, and all my stuff has been packed and shuffled around, and I just haven't gotten around to un-packing all of it. There is a cake post coming, I promise. In the meantime, I've been trying to take more photos of life over food, to document the precious moments along with the delicious ones. Hopefully there will be more of a mix to come.
