We're smack in the middle of my spirit season and I guarantee I'm the happiest small Asian lady in all of Indianapolis. Lately my favorite part of the day has been pretty much any part of the day that doesn't involve being inside listening to radiology lectures. Because a lot of it has been outside on runs or on walks, no ray of sun unmissed, no flower not admired. And is it just me, but is there just so much pink outside these days, specifically, millennial pink? Full disclosure, I didn't even know what millennial pink was until about a week ago. And even still, I can only chalk it up as being a trendy pink. I don't know. Someone give me a lesson in being trendy.
The art museum welcomed spring by installing a beer garden next to their greenhouse, and I finally got to check it out with Andrew, Amal, and Aava last Saturday. Along with all the beautiful new blooms they've planted around the gardens - color on color on color. It was a joy to see all the color combinations the museum concocted for the season. Life truly felt alive that day, and I fed off the positive energy, recharging my mental battery, trying to capture how I felt in the sunshine surrounded by flowers with some quality friends. To remember for when the days are a little cloudier and colder (although, hopefully we're done with winter). The whole day was so bright and airy and lovely - a true spring-into-summer moment. We finished the night with tacos and Dairy Queen, so that's how you know it was a near-perfect day.
Next week I'll be on the shores of Alabama with the same people plus even more friends and it's going to be an adventure! I've never been to Alabama... I'm assuming it's hot but have no idea how hot? What SPF will I need? Will it be shorts-only weather? These are the questions I'm pondering this morning. Overall, v excited for next week. I have a feeling it will feel a bit like summer.
Happy spring, happy Tuesday, happy mid-April everyone!
