Saturday morning, Monica and I made the drive up to South Bend to see a special someone - aka Candice our little sister! She is a sophomore at Notre Dame and had a couple of extra tickets for the football game this past weekend. So we got ourselves up there, changed into some of Candice's extra t-shirts, tacked on some ND face stickers, and transformed from Hoosiers into Fighting Irish for a day.
It was beautiful in so many ways. There was perfect sunshine and ice cream after lunch. And the ND game day spirit is so electric. Everyone was decked out in greens and navy blues, tailgating beforehand and yelling, clapping, dancing, cheering during the game. My favorite was watching the push ups after every ND touchdown - not on the ground, but in the air, where your classmates pick you up and literally toss you in the air. The whole experience was captivating.
And the best part, as always, was the company. Particularly this company, because it's not often that we can get together for a weekend when school is in session. We loved walking around campus and taking pictures, making poses and acknowledging how remarkably similar we are starting to look. Monica and I left, but not without noting that our hearts were so full from the time we got to spend together. There is nothing better than family. I love my sisters with all my heart.
Good luck with your week, friends! Go out there and kill it.
