Short and sweet today, while I take a quick break from all the food and celebrations. First and foremost, congratulations to my graduating class. Walking in this morning, I didn't expect to get emotional, and sure enough once I saw you guys on stage, I was fighting back tears. I felt a mixture of pride, relief, joy, and a twinge of sadness that we will be parting ways - it truly is the most bittersweet farewell I've experienced in years.
The four most important things that got me through medical school: my parents, Andrew, discovering this little hobby, and last but not least, my friends. Some old, some new, all equally beautiful and precious to me. When I feel stressed in the midst of intern year, I'll remember singing Despacito/steak burrito. When I feel like crying after a tough day, I'll think back to our goofy text thread, full of homemade memes and gifs and a million likes on each text. When I feel alone, I'll just start one of our chants in my head. Thank you guys, and congratulations times a million. I will miss you all, but you know you always have a place in Chicago to crash whenever you need. And don't forget - Chicago whirlyball reunion in no time! Love you all like family.
These are some photos we took yesterday since we knew today would be a bit of a clusterf*** getting us all together post-ceremonials. And I'm so glad we did! (Ben and Erb we missed you the mostest!) They're beautiful.
Have a beautiful weekend, and don't forget to give your mom some extra hard lovin' tomorrow. And, one last time, congratulations everyone! We did it!
