Does your house smell like cookies? Is your Google Home playing Christmas music 24/7? Did you finally put up your tree?! Happy end-of-November and let the Christmas festivities begin!
I was a little bit of an Eeyore at the end of Thanksgiving, not really feeling one bit of that Christmas spirit I love so much. This year is so different from my past holiday seasons and I was overthinking - I am far from home, and I am working during most of it. Which was bringing down the mood, making me feel lonely, and missing my family back in Indy. Luckily we both had a day off together and in an effort to launch myself outta those icky feels and into the wonder that is Christmas, we jam packed our day with all sorts of holiday goodness - including a trip to the Christkindlmarket downtown! It's an adorable square they set up every year, filled with old world German and Eastern European trinkets and ornaments and a good ol' Krampus set up next to one of the shops. Everyone loves the hot chocolate in the cute snowman mugs, and the mulled wine with the smell of sugary almonds in the air. And even though it was a little warm for the season, I still wore my big scarf and bought a pickle (ornament) for the tree, and let the excitement of Christmas settle in. We also split a bratwurst, which is basically a glorified hot dog, which is high on my list of top foods, so there's that.
Have a wonderful weekend!
